My name is Brittany Smithkort.  I am currently a 10th and 12th grade English teacher at South Lyon High School; I am about to begin my fourth year there.  I was the co-coach of the SLHS Debate Team for three years, and am the club sponsor for Film Club.

As far as education goes, I just finished up my MAED at Michigan State, with a concentration in Literacy Education.  Before that, I got my post-bachelor's teaching certification for secondary English and Spanish at MSU.  I received my BA in English with a minor in Global Media Studies (Film) from the University of Michigan.

When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my husband and one-year-old son, Mason.  We are a very active family and like to train for half-marathons and triathlons.  I also enjoy reading and film.
